How are we possibly okay with this?

I’m not quite the world’s #1 CNN fan, but I pulled this from their website just now. My mind is blown.

My views on guns and gun control and the problem we have in this country (USA) are no secret, and are pretty darn strong. This data just breaks my heart.

There’s plenty of illustration of our fundamental inhumanity in the world right now, but you have to be pretty messed up to be able to watch children die and be okay with it. Even more so, when it’s very much controllable.

According to this data, we’re killing our children with guns, more than anything else. Let that sit for a minute - the NUMBER ONE cause of death. And we won’t do a damn thing about it.

The “poisoning” bucket references drug related deaths for the most part. The increase there is also pretty gut-wrenching, but the difference is we seem willing to see that as a problem.

Only one way this will change in this country - get out and vote, at all levels of government, for people who actually care about the things that matter.
